This fantastic French EP is taken from the soundtrack to a French early 1970s TV show, and was issued on the obscure Barclay offshoot Riviera Records. Extremely tough to find, it's an absolute beast of a record, with five tracks of tough, sinuous French funk with that distinctive French feel. The main theme features some funny 'doo-doo-doo'-style female vocals and the rest of the cuts swing between crime jazz in feel and two wicked dancefloor wah-funk cuts, beaty, uptempo with excellent tough basslines. Pulsation is the winning cut with the freakbeat fuzz guitar of King Cat a close second! Top stuff and very highly recommended.
