The Brazilian domestic soundtrack scene produced many superb soundtrack albums during the 1970s, and remained consistently good well into the 1980s. This album is from 1978, a point at which the majority of American soundtrack composers had moved away from funk and into the tired, limpid disco sound. Down in Rio they kept things funky! There's plenty to keep funk fans and DJs happy on this great record - despite the cheesy cover it's a really strong funk album. Best track is the mad, bass-heavy sleaze-funk of Rita Lee's 'Agora E Moda'.
