One of the reasons why we admire French soundtracks so much is that you never know what you're going to find on each record. Here's a prime example - it used to be a thrift store LP not so long ago. Now, thanks to a few well-connected compilations, it's at the top of the heap for funky French flavors. Produced to cash in on the 'Who dares wins' hype, this SAS-themed movie has an interesting and varied soundtrack with a crisp 80s sound that hasn't been tainted by the rest of the junk produced during that decade. There's an incredible Fender Rhodes number in 'Grand Theme Malko' that merits buying the LP, and also a good Latin cut in Theme Cubain. A good album.
