There's an old saying in aviation that goes something like 'if it looks right, it'll fly right'. Sometimes that same adage can be applied to soundtracks. The album cover is superb. The music is composed by Luis Bacalov and conducted by Bruno Nicolai. Italian soundtrack collectors should be starting to sweat about now. The liner notes are sharp, incisive and well-written. And the music? Oh yes. This we like. A subtle blend of jazz and latin, like the movie it's soaked in Sicilian atmosphere. The title theme is a killer breakbeat number and features one of the BADDEST latin breakbeats ever committed to vinyl (lately used by Karminsky Experience in their groovy Mah Na Mah Na remix). For you tightwads, there's a cheaper MCA Classics reissue on vinyl too. BUY IT!
