Dave Grusin had just finished working on the score for 'The Graduate' when he started working on this romantic movie, set in the frenetic world of motor racing. The album has an up-tempo, dynamic feel in keeping with the mood of the movie. It's mostly instrumental and features a great studio band including organ and strong brass section. The outstanding funk track is 'Gasoline Alley', a mid-tempo big beat classic.
