From the musical by Tommy Butler, this soundtrack album is a 2 LP set. That makes for a lot of music. In this case, that's two LPs of really solid, chunky mid 70s funk courtesy of Paul Riser! We've featured a series of funky musicals lately, and this is without doubt the best of them all. Over these two albums you'll find uptempo, downtempo, midtempo, ballads, disco cuts, rare groove styles, and plenty of very usable breaks, all with a well recorded, clean, damn funky sound. It's a pity that all of the tracks include operatic-style musical vocal, but in some cases the mix of funk and a big voice works well. Highly recommended, don't sleep on it!
