Odessa File, The Andrew Lloyd-Webber MCA MCA-2064, 1974
Odessa File, The album cover

1970s thriller movie? Must have the funk somewhere, despite being a Lloyd-Webber joint. Right? Right. Some surprisingly tight beats in amongst the bad orchestral and forgettable genre pieces. Best of all is probably the weird analog synth, chello and drums piece 'Solomon Tauber's Diary' - there are a couple of notable short orchestral funk tracks on the flip too. Worth a dollar-bin shot.

Overall Rating: 3
