This review will have a few of you scurrying off to the nearest German record store! A soundtrack by cult funk artist Peter Herbolzheimer? And more importantly, is it groovy? We're glad to say that yes, it really has its moments. Don't expect a 'Live In Onkel Po' from this album and you won't be disappointed. It's beautifully played, crisply arranged, produced and recorded, and is very much worth digging up if you enjoy mellow European tinged funk with a heavy dose of jazz. Mostly instrumental, there's a tight, short disco jam in 'Nightclub-Fever' and several reprises of the super-mellow theme 'Dann stehst du da' using different feels and instrumentation (mostly trumpet, sax and Rhodes over a big band backline). A great mellow funk LP with a great late 70s feel - a summertime album probably not destined for the dancefloor but beautiful to listen to.
