For those of you who didn't grow up in 70s Britain, The Goodies were a hugely successful TV comedy threesome in a similar fashion to Monty Python. They produced several TV tie-in LPs, and this one is the funkiest, featuring their hit single parody of 70s 'funky animal' dances, called 'The Funky Gibbon'. Bizarrely, this LP is quite sought-after by producers because it features plenty of genuine funk breaks! The funky tracks are supposedly tongue-in-cheek but actually hit some good grooves, particularly on 'Cricklewood Shakedown'. Check it out, you heard it here first.
