Mikis Theodorakis scored this gritty police drama in 1973 following earlier soundtrack success with 'Z'. Al Pacino plays tough cop Frank Serpico to an interesting background of musical styles and instruments. There is an undercurrent of Greek tradition in many of the tracks, when Theodorakis adds a new spin to a well-known style. The outstanding track is the five minute drum and bass funk monster 'On The Streets' - buy for that track alone.
