One of several notable late 1960s motorsports-related soundtracks, On Any Sunday featured Steve McQueen in a documentary-style movie about motorcycling. The score reflects the subject matter - it's strong and powerful with a heavy beat. The band sports Tom Scott on great form, and the instrumentation is perfect for tight, big band funk. Check out 'Sunday Drivin' for a lesson in how to play funk that way - the bassline is superb. A great album.
